Diljit Dosanjh is currently embroiled in controversy due to his collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film 'Sardaar Ji 3'. Despite the filmmakers clarifying that the movie was shot with Hania prior to the incident, both Diljit and the production team are facing criticism. In light of this situation, singer Jasbir Jassi has come forward to support Diljit and the film's creators.

Expressing his solidarity with Diljit, Jasbir criticized the online trolls, stating, "I see how Diljit Dosanjh and his film are facing protests on social media because it features a Pakistani artist. I understand the sentiments of those who advocate for national pride, but why the double standards?" He further emphasized, "If there is a desire to ban Pakistani artists from Indian films, then we must also acknowledge that a significant portion of our music has been influenced by them, whether through melodies or lyrics. The list is extensive, so why the inconsistency?"

Diljit's Response to the Backlash

In response to the criticism regarding Hania Aamir's involvement, Diljit shared his perspective with the BBC Asian Network, stating, "When this film was made, the situation was stable. We filmed it in February when everything was fine. Many factors are now beyond our control. The producers decided that the film would not be released in India, so they opted for an overseas release. A significant investment has been made in this project, and at the time of filming, there were no issues."
