Thirthahalli: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has extended its investigation into the alleged irregularities involving the Shivamogga District Cooperative Central (DCC) Bank, conducting a fresh raid on the residence of Krishnamurthy Bhat — a close aide of former MLA R.M. Manjunath Gowda.

The raid took place at Bhat’s house in Bettamakki, located adjacent to Manjunath Gowda’s residence. According to sources, Bhat has been associated with Gowda for over 15 years and is considered one of his most trusted associates. The ED officials reportedly carried out a detailed search of the property, although the exact nature and focus of the investigation remain unclear at this time.

Previously, ED officials had conducted searches at eight different locations, including R.M. Manjunath Gowda’s residence in Bengaluru, the home of a DCC Bank manager named Shobha in Shivamogga, and the residence of a bank driver.

The latest raid has sparked curiosity regarding the possible links between Krishnamurthy Bhat and the DCC Bank. It is also reported that the ED team visited another undisclosed location as part of their ongoing probe.

Further details about the ED’s findings and the extent of Bhat’s involvement are expected to emerge later in the day (Wednesday, April 9).
