Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) had a moment of triumph on Monday after Fox News unexpectedly aired a clip of her roasting senior White House aide Stephen Miller during a live broadcast.
“I cannot believe they aired this and made him listen to it live,” Ocasio-Cortez said, adding with amusement, “I am crying.”
The segment on The Ingraham Angle showed Miller awkwardly appearing in a side window as a clip from Ocasio-Cortez’s weekend Instagram livestream played.
In it, she joked about Miller’s temper, saying he seemed “so mad that he is 4'10" that he’s taking that anger out at any other population possible,” before urging viewers to “laugh at them! Laugh at them!”
“People talk about toxic masculinity, let’s put that to the side for just one second, this is about insecure masculinity, and one of the best ways that you can dismantle a movement of insecure men is by making fun of them,” she said.
“By having secure men who aren’t afraid of successful people around them, who are good dads, who have strong values, also participating in that as well. Miller, who laughed after Laura Ingraham described him as AOC’s “favorite target,” reacted to the clip.
“Well, we knew — we knew that her brain didn’t work, now we know their eyes don’t work,” said Miller, who proceeded to chuckle.
“The — I mean she’s just, she’s a mess, right? What a trainwreck! What a trainwreck!”
