MYSURU: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah ’s wife, BM Parvathi , appeared before the Lokayukta police on Friday in connection with the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority (Muda) scam but managed to evade media attention.

Her questioning comes exactly a month after a special court ordered an investigation into the claims surrounding the scandal. Parvathi, who has maintained a low profile throughout her husband’s decades-long political career, arrived at the Lokayukta SP office without attracting attention.

Known for her reserved nature, Parvathi avoids public events, even during private visits to places like Sri Chamundeshwari Temple during the Dasara celebrations.

During her nearly three-hour statement at the Lokayukta SP’s (Mysuru division) office, Parvathi provided information related to a disputed land transaction in Kesare, which was gifted to her in 2010 by her brother BM Mallikarjuna Swamy, who is also named in the FIR.

Lokayukta SP TJ Udesha, the investigating officer, said Parvathi received a notice to appear late Thursday evening. “We recorded her statement regarding the transaction of Kesare land and then 14 alternative sites that she received as compensation from Muda,” Udesha added.
