In the competitive world of WWE , not every superstar can live up to the high expectations that come with being part of the biggest wrestling promotion. While some rise to the occasion, others falter, struggling to capture the attention of fans or deliver memorable performances.

The year 2024 saw the rise of several male superstars who stayed in the spotlight and became fan favorites. However, on the other hand, some struggled to maintain momentum, with inconsistent bookings and underwhelming storylines contributing to their lackluster runs.

Let’s take a look at 5 WWE male superstars who failed to make a significant impact in 2024

1. Finn Balor

Finn Balor's 2024 run was a letdown for many fans. Although he remained a key member of The Judgment Day, even reforming the faction after betraying Damian Priest, his individual success was minimal. Despite being involved in a rivalry with Priest, Balor's overall presence in WWE during 2024 was underwhelming, leaving fans questioning his future direction.

Balor is a skilled and quick wrestler, and the audience is eager to see him featured in more engaging and exciting storylines. He needs a stronger push and more focus to regain his spotlight and truly shine again in WWE.

2. Randy Orton

Randy Orton, one of WWE’s most decorated superstars, made his much-anticipated return in WWE after a lengthy injury hiatus. However, despite the initial excitement, Orton’s comeback lacked the impact fans were expecting. His storylines felt recycled, and he struggled to regain his former glory. While Orton remains a legend in the business, his 2024 run didn’t live up to his usual standard.

Although Orton was involved in some spotlight rivalries like Cody Rhodes Vs. The Bloodline but he wasn’t prominently featured in the main storyline. Orton also challenged Gunther for the championship. Their match took place at the Bash in Berlin, but unfortunately for Orton, he did not secure a victory.

Despite staying in the limelight after his return to WWE, the glory he once had seems to be missing. Orton needs a significant push and an exciting storyline to get back on track and reclaim his status as a top contender.

3. Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman, known for his brute strength and larger-than-life persona, had a forgettable year in 2024. His impact on WWE was minimal, and he was not involved in any memorable rivalries during this time. Strowman’s only noteworthy storyline was with Bronson Reed, but that feud primarily benefited Reed more than Strowman.

To regain his standing in WWE, Strowman requires a more intense rivalry and compelling storylines that will help him carve out a better space for himself in the company. As a powerful giant, he needs proper booking in the coming days to capitalize on his immense potential and return to the forefront of the wrestling scene.

4. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn, once a fan-favorite and a key player in WWE’s storyline involving The Bloodline, had a rather quiet year in 2024. After his emotional and successful run in 2023, which included an iconic match at WrestleMania, Sami struggled to maintain his momentum. His storylines lacked the depth and emotional investment that had previously propelled him to the top.

While his in-ring skills remained sharp, his presence in 2024 was far from the standout performances fans had come to expect. Sami Zayn lost his Intercontinental Championship to Bron Breakker at SummerSlam and lost the rematch for the title again on Monday Night RAW. Zayn struggled to find his place this year. Zayn also challenged Gunther multiple times for the championship match, he finally earned a chance to face him by defeating Ludwig Kaiser. Unfortunately, he could not secure a victory against Gunther, missing a significant opportunity to regain his status. Zayn is currently out of any engaging storyline and needs a substantial push to reclaim his spot as a top contender in WWE.

5. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins started 2024 strong, but as the year progressed, it became disappointing for him. Despite holding the World Heavyweight Championship at various points, Rollins often found himself overshadowed by other storylines and emerging superstars. His character felt stale, and his once-electric persona seemed to fade, leaving fans wanting more from one of WWE’s top names.

Rollins also spent some time away from the ring, returning during a match between Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman. As a WWE superstar with many achievements to his name, this year didn’t work out well for him, and he failed to live up to audience expectations.

While 2024 has been tough for the superstars mentioned, all of them are great wrestlers with immense potential, and circumstances can change at any moment. Let's see how their futures unfold in the coming days and how WWE will book them for the remainder of 2024 and 2025. Hopefully, all these superstars will make a strong comeback in WWE soon.
