Is Russell Wilson finally getting baby 'Cinco'? Ciara responds to his ongoing plea

Send Push

NFL star and Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson has made no secret of his desire to expand his family with wife Ciara — even going so far as to publicly campaign for a fifth child. But after months of nudging, jokes, and social media hints, Ciara has responded clearly and playfully: not now.

Wilson, 36, and Grammy-winning singer Ciara, 39, married in 2016 and share three children together, Sienna Princess (7), Win Harrison (4), and Amora Princess (16 months). Ciara also has a 10-year-old son, Future Zahir, from her previous relationship with rapper Future. That brings their household to four children, a number Wilson hopes to increase to five, even giving the hypothetical baby the nickname “Cinco.”

Wilson’s Mother’s Day plea: ‘Let’s have another’

The quarterback, who recently signed with the New York Giants , chose Mother’s Day to again raise the idea of baby number five. In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Wilson shared a video montage of Ciara and wrote:

“Happy #MothersDay @Ciara! Our babies have the best mom, friend, and role model. You inspire us every day! Your love is strong! We are so so blessed God gave us you. We love you!!!
You are so good at this Mom thing, let’s have another… Cheers to the idea of ‘Cinco!’ & Cheers to you for FOREVER being the best Mom!
Love, Us.”

Ciara responded graciously but firmly, with a dose of playful sarcasm, finishing the reply along with a laughing-crying emoji, heart-face emoji, and kissing emoji."

"love you sooo much baby! This campaign you got is strong! I can’t lie!
In all seriousness, this video is the sweetest. Thanks for always cheering me on and encouraging me as a mommy to our four precious babies, the truth is… I already have Cinco with you"

‘That’s just disrespectful!’: Ciara speaks out

This isn’t the first time Ciara has addressed her husband’s growing enthusiasm for baby No. 5. Speaking to Access Hollywood in April, the singer didn’t hold back when recalling how quickly Wilson brought up the idea after the birth of their youngest daughter, Amora:

“Let me tell you, someone needs to take my husband’s phone right now, okay? Because he needs to stop, okay?
Listen, Amora came out, and he starts talking about ‘Cinco.’
I’m like, ‘That’s just disrespectful! Do you know what I just went through right now with this?’”

Still, Ciara acknowledged his sense of humor, and his campaign's popularity with fans.

“No, but he is so funny. He’s got a great campaign going, I’m not gonna lie.
The people are following Rus; they’re all team Rus.
Like wait, y’all not gonna have a little love and sympathy for my ovaries over here and for my uterus?”

A long-running joke with a public twist

Wilson has been making these pleas for some time. In October 2024, he responded to an Instagram photo of Ciara in a leather outfit with:

“I’m ready when you are. We can call him Cinco.”

He also joked about baby “Cinco” back in March, commenting on a video of Ciara dancing in a carnival costume:

“This my mating call I see… keep sippin’ on that @tentoonerum… Cinco goin’ to be on di way!”

In fact, Wilson publicly begged for another baby as far back as 2022 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

For now, family planning paused

While Wilson may continue his playful campaign, Ciara seems content with their current family of six. Though not ruling it out entirely, her message is clear: she’s not ready — yet.

Meanwhile, Wilson is preparing to lead the New York Giants in the upcoming NFL season, joining a quarterback room that includes Jameis Winston and rookie Jaxson Dart. Coming off a season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in which he threw 16 touchdowns in 11 games, the veteran QB has more than just baby names to focus on.
