Rockstar Games ' Grand Theft Auto V is rejoining Xbox Game Pass after a long wait, this time with a thrilling twist. Beginning April 15, the popular title will be playable on all Xbox consoles, cloud, and for the first time in history, PC Game Pass. Having both the Legacy and Enhanced versions included guarantees gamers on all levels can play the experience, no matter the platform.

GTA V returns to Game Pass with support for all platforms

This is the first time GTA V will be available to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, something that many fans had been expecting after earlier datamines from the Rockstar Games Launcher back in mid-2024. Aside from being accessible on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and cloud streaming, the game can now be started on PC via the Xbox App. This provides seamless access to servers with players on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Rockstar Games Launcher, creating a cohesive cross-platform experience.

Microsoft officially announced the news soon after the most recent GTA Online Event Week, creating hype among the community. With both Legacy and Enhanced versions packaged across all Game Pass levels, gamers will get to experience optimized gameplay according to their preferred platform.

How long will GTA V remain on Game Pass?

Like the case of most big Rockstar games, no official end date has been announced for GTA V's current stint on Game Pass. But following historical trends, where GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 usually stayed on the service for about six months—fans should anticipate a similar period this time. From there, the game can be pulled temporarily before potentially coming back again in the future.

This cycle is similar to the trend with Rockstar's titles on PlayStation Plus, where games typically stay around six months before they rotate out.

GTA V's return to Xbox Game Pass—with additional PC support and total cross-platform capabilities—represents a huge victory for fans wanting to revisit Los Santos. Regardless of whether you're new to the game or coming back for another spin, April 15 represents a wonderful time to return. Just don't wait too long—it may not be here forever.
