Genshin Impact new character reveal, Dahlia's element confirmed

Send Push
The special version 5.6 of Genshin Impact brought a lot of interesting information and one major surprise. Viewers got the first look at Dahlia, a new character. In the Version 5.6 trailer, the presence of a Hydro Vision on Dahlia confirmed that he wields the Hydro element. Dahlia serves as a Deacon in the Church of Favonius, where Barbara and Rosaria also work. Hence, he could have an important role in the storyline and future gameplay.

Connected to past teasersFans that have been watching the previous live streams should find Dahlia's silhouette quite familiar. During the Version 5.3 update, outlines of future characters were shown by HoYoverse, and Dahlia perfectly matches one of them. That translates to him being most likely a playable character very soon, during Version 5.7, likely dropping on June 18, 2025.

What we know and what we don'tFor now, the other details about Dahlia are somewhat under wraps:

  • Rarity: Not revealed yet.
  • Weapon: Also not revealed yet.
Just judging by his elegant appearance, players expect him to be a sword or catalyst user, though nothing is official for now.

What is so special about Dahlia?Fans expect Dahlia could be a great gameplay hero. He may provide an Attack Speed buff, enhancing the strength of Ayato, Yoimiya, and the Wanderer. But Attack Speed alone isn't enough; fans are hoping Dahlia will have other cool effects, possibly something that brings shield support—something Hydro hasn't had yet.

Fighter is not Dahlia with the likes of Mondstadt characters. He seems to be rather friendly with Venti, but whether he is aware of Venti's secret self as Barbatos, the Anemo Archon, is unknown. With his connections to key characters, it is only likely that he will play a major part in the next Archon Quest.

Dahlia will be one of the most interesting fresh faces coming up in Genshin Impact. Players are waiting to see if he will be game-changing, stunning with his powers, or complementing through the story.
