Throwback to Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra's first Karwa Chauth last year

Actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani tied the knot in February 2023 at Rajasthan's Suryagarh Palace. The couple got hitched in a fairytale wedding in the presence of their loved ones. Last year, the couple also celebrated their first Karwa Chauth.

Sidharth Malhotra took to social media last year and dropped a photo where they are seen decked up in ethnic outfits. The couple seemed lost in each other. Siddharth wore a red kurta and Kiara opted for a pink kurta suit. In the picture, Kiara is seen glowing as she looks at Sidharth through the channi (sieve). Sidharth captioned it, “Blessed.”

Karwa Chauth is a traditional Hindu ritual observed primarily by married women in India, especially in the northern regions. The ceremony fall on the fourth day after the full moon in the month of Kartik (according to the Hindu lunar calendar). Married women fast from sunrise until moonrise for the well-being, longevity, and prosperity of their husbands. The fast is later broken with the sighting of the moon. Women look at the moon through a sieve or a glass, and offer prayers to the moon for their husband's well-being. The husband offers the first sip of water and food to his wife, thereby breaking the fast.

On the work front, Siddharth Malhotra has completed 12 years in cinema recently. In a note shared on X, he said, “12 amazing years of your love and support! Thank you for being with me on this journey. Here’s to keeping the good times rolling and entertaining you all! Big love and hug!”
