Anupamaa actress Rupali was reported to have been bitten by a dog on the sets of her TV show by an entertainment portal earlier in the day. However, the actress came live in the evening and dismissed the news report and called it the most ridiculous news she has ever heard. A report surfaced earlier claiming that Rupali had been bitten by a dog during a shoot. Rupali, who is known for her deep love and kindness toward animals on set, often refers to the dogs as her own children but after learning about the reports, she decided to address the media by going live on social media. Rupali was quick to shut down the rumours, expressing strong displeasure and calling the claims completely untrue.
She started the video by showing her furbabies and said, "These are my babies - Aadha, Rimjhim, Ghungroo, Goggle, Coffee, Jadoo, Disco, Diana, Lambuji, Madan. And yes, even the monkeys who come here - I feed them with my hands. It is called irresponsible journalism. The report says 'I've been bitten by a dog on Anupamaa sets. It is the most bulls*** and ridiculous news that I've ever heard. Seriously, there are so many things written about me but I've never responded to them because I don't bother about these reports and like to focus on my work. I do my work sincerely and people can write about me whatever they want to. There have been times when stuff about me is written without being verified. People don't even have a basic courtesy to ask before publishing. Please at least spare these innocent, voiceless animals, who can't speak in their defense."
She further called the dogs her own babies and assured that they have never harmed anyone, "Animals don’t bite without a reason, it’s usually when they’re scared or in pain. These dogs have been on set for five years and have never harmed anyone. They only respond defensively if they’re startled or cornered. Out of the blue, I began receiving concerned messages. I have no idea who spreads such stories. The least one can do is check the facts before posting. These dogs are like my own children."
Rupali urged to not spread rumours, “Please, at least spare the voiceless. These innocent creatures don’t have a voice, and they can’t clarify anything. Instead of asking for my side, you didn’t even check the facts. Why create drama over something that never took place?"
She concluded her live chat with an emotional request to spare voiceless animals, “I am sorry for this rant. With folded hands, I ask all of you - verify your news before you publish. Please continue to write about whatever you want, but leave these voiceless animals, my furbabies alone. It is not appreciated. They don't deserve this.”
