“I'm fed up": Lip reader reveals what Prince Harry said during King Charles' coronation

When King Charles was crowned on May 6, 2023, it had been 1,214 days since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals and relocated their family to California. Yet despite the deepening rift, Harry made the journey back across the Atlantic to attend his father's big day — a move seen as symbolic, if not entirely reconciliatory.

But beneath the surface of royal tradition, cameras may have captured a more personal moment of discontent. According to expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman , Prince Harry was seen having an unusually candid conversation inside Westminster Abbey—allegedly with Jack Brooksbank, the husband of his cousin Princess Eugenie.

Freeman, speaking to The Sun, claimed Harry said: “I’m fed up with the way they treat me,” followed by, “It’s not an ideal situation.” Brooksbank appeared to nod, replying: “It’s not the quiet life, is it?”

The Duke of Sussex, now 40, then allegedly shook his head and added: “They don’t care.” Freeman said Brooksbank replied, “I haven’t time for that. Not if it’s over…”—to which Harry responded: “It’s an eventuality.”

Though the exact topic of their discussion remains unconfirmed, the exchange has fueled speculation that Harry was referencing his long-standing tensions with senior royals—especially in the wake of his bombshell memoir Spare, released earlier that year.

It was Harry’s first public appearance with the royal family since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022. This time, he was seated in the third row alongside non-working royals like Prince Andrew and his cousins. Dressed in a formal three-piece morning suit adorned with medals, Harry was not permitted to wear military attire—a privilege now reserved for working royals.

And unlike his father and brother, Harry didn’t linger for the palace balcony appearance or family lunch. Just minutes after the coronation ceremony ended, the Duke headed straight to Heathrow Airport. He spent just over 24 hours in the UK. Reports later confirmed he flew back to Montecito to celebrate his son Archie’s fourth birthday.

In addition to decoding Harry’s chat, Freeman also picked up more behind-the-scenes mutterings. As King Charles waited in the gold carriage amid light rain, he was seen saying: “I can’t see a thing with this crown. I can’t look up.” Camilla, now Queen, replied: “I can’t see anything either. My crown will fall off.”
