AR Rahman was hospitalised recently as the composer had a gastric attack, however there were rumours about him being admitted due to chest pain and many thought it was something serious. People got worried with the news of his hospitalisation. In a recent interview, Rahman has opened up on how his friends in the industry reacted to this news.

He said in an interview with News18 Showsha, "I do love my friends. When they heard that I was in the hospital, everyone reacted to it. So many singers and directors sent me messages. It was very kind of them. I acknowledged all that stuff and thanked them."

Rahman further spoke about his friendships in the industry and Hollywood, and how he hardly manages to make time for them. "I did have friends but I’m always behind. Even if I’ve a lot of time, I go even deeper and intense into work. If I know that making a song will take eight hours, I don’t stop at that. I keep pushing myself beyond that. My mantra is: more time, better work and better satisfaction. It’s not like I do less work just so that I can have more friends."

He added, "The best way to honour them is to include all of them in my prayers, which I do. That’s the only way I can celebrate my friendships."
Meanwhile, Rahman had finally broken silence on why he was hospitalised. He said in an interview with India Today, "I was fasting and had even turned vegetarian. I got a gastric attack and was in the hospital. The next thing I got to know was that they had sent out a press note, and it was all there. It was, however, nice to get so many beautiful messages from people and realise that they do want me to live (laughs).”
