Meet Ratan Tata's Two Half-Sisters Who Will Play A Crucial Role In Executing His Will

Ratan Tata passed away this year on October 9. He was 86 at the time of his death. He entrusted two people, one of them being a lawyer, Darius Khambata and the other one being his close associate, Mehli Mistry, to to carry out his will. Ratan Tata had two half-sisters, Shireen Jejeebhoy and Deanna Jejeebhoy, who are also the ones who will be executing his will. Their names are not familiar to the public, however, they will play a crucial role in the execution of the late Ratan Tata’s will. Post his death, Ratan Tata’s half-brother, Noel Tata became the next chairperson of Tata Trusts. Tata Trusts is one of India’s most noteworthy philanthropic organizations which started out in 1892 with Jamsetji Tata as the founder of the Tata Group. Shireen Jejeebhoy and Deanna Jejeebhoy are the daughters of Sooni Tata and Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy. Sooni Tata was Ratan Tata’s mother from her second marriage to Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy. Ratan Tata was known to share a deep bond with his sisters. They were also involved in philanthropic initiatives throughout their lives. Deanna, in the 1990s and early 2000s, had been a trustee on the board of the Ratan Tata Trust. For over 40 years, her work revolved around helping impoverished elderly people and differently-abled adults. Currently, she is serving as a trustee at the District Benevolent Society of Bombay, which focuses on the betterment of the poverty-stricken older population. Many media reports said that her philanthropic initiatives were extensive. For over 21 years spanning from 1990-2011, she was involved in lending a helping hand to individuals with Down Syndrome, autism, and mild spastic conditions. She has also been the Program Advisor at Sir Ratan Tata Trust from 1994 to 2001. She has also contributed significantly to organizations like The Anchorage and The Lady Meherbai Tata Education Trust.

According to the Economic Times report, for the execution of his will, Mehli Mistry and Darius Khambata will be responsible for managing any unallocated assets as specified in the will. His will is going to be acted out by his two half-sisters Shireen Jejeebhoy and Deanna Jejeebhoy and Mehli Mistry and Darius Khambata.
