The UK's most loved car has been revealed, with the standout model considered one of the most reliable second-hand vehicles on the market today. According to Which?, the third-generation Lexus RX Hybrid model has comfortably topped its car survey for customer satisfaction in 2025.
The model earned a customer score of 97%, with customers praising the car for its reliability and comfort. The model isn't new, with the third-generation RX Hybrid launching back in 2009 before being discontinued six years later in 2015. It means the Japanese manufacturer has edged out top manufacturers, including Land Rover, BMW and Italian marque Ferrari for customer satisfaction.
Which? explained: "Dependable, comfortable and easy to drive: it's what we all want from our daily runabouts and the Lexus RX Hybrid is the model that comfortably topped the Which? car survey for customer satisfaction this year, earning a customer score* of 97%. Which?'s survey data revealed the model is one of the most reliable 10+ year-old cars you can buy on the market.
Meanwhile, the Lexus RX Hybrid is just one of just 10 cars this age that achieved a full five-star rating in the company's reliability survey. WhatCar? has previously claimed that the Lexus RX reliability record was very strong.
Experts at the group previously explained that motorists should have absolutely no issues with the car's hybrid power unit, with specialists claiming the part is effectively bulletproof. Prices for the RX Hybrid can start from as little as £8,000. However, newer models will likely cost a lot more.
Motorists could pay anywhere between £10,000 to £12,000 for a 2010/2011 model and as much as £14,000 for cars registered between 2013 and 2014. WhatCar? has previously said that prospective buyers should look for signs of over-enthusiastic use before agreeing to a sale.
Meanwhile, road users should check all "non-engine electricals" for possible issues, such as the touch screen and windows.
Which? explained: "Where owners found fault - and we did too - was with running costs. The Lexus RX Hybrid managed just 35mpg in our combined fuel economy test in 2009 and just 26mpg on the motorway. In town, though, it achieved a (still to this day) impressive 59mpg."
Which?'s car survey data has the Honda Civic Hatchback in second place with a customer score of 94%. The Toyota RAV4 came in third at 94%, followed by the Lexus ES and Lexus IS Saloon at 93%.
