Paul Pogba has shared his verdict on Marcus Rashford's transfer to Barcelona, as the attacker's Manchester United career comes to an end. The forward joined United's academy as a kid and, aside from last season's short loan spell at Aston Villa, has spent his entire career with the Premier League giant.

Rashford is said to have passed his medical with Barcelona ahead of the move, with the Englishman having arrived in Catalonia on Sunday night. The deal will see Rashford join Barcelona on an initial loan, with the La Liga outfit boasting an option to buy in the region £30million.

What's more, Barcelona will cover the entirety of Rashford's wages for the 2025/26 season, which is estimated to have saved the Red Devils around £14m. But ahead of his presentation to the media on Wednesday, one-time team-mate Pogba has claimed his former club are losing a "great player".

Speaking during a social media clip with streamer iShowspeed, the midfielder said: "That's crazy, but I'm happy for him because they [Manchester United] took his number. Manchester United are losing a great player. Unlucky for them."

Pogba continued: "It's great for Barcelona to be honest. I'm not even talking about Manchester United, because they've bought a few new players and the new manager wants to do his thing, I guess. It's not really his [Amorim's] fault. If he doesn't believe in someone. He needs to win. If he doesn't win they're going to sack him. But I'm happy for Marcus."

Assuming Rashford doesn't return to Old Trafford in the future, it will mean he ends his time with the club having made 426 appearances since making his senior debut in 2015. During that time, Rashford netted 138 times for the Red Devils, while registering a further 77 assists.

United have wasted no time in ushering in Rashford's replacement, with Bryan Mbeumo having been revealed following a lengthy transfer saga. Upon his arrival, Mbeumo told United's website: "As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams - the team whose shirt I wore growing up.

"My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here, learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players."
