Cleaning the oven is no one's favourite chore. If you leave it too long it becomes almost impossible due to being baked on grease and grime. One of the worst parts of this chore is getting the glass oven door sparkling again.
If you're tired of constantly scrubbing with all your strength just for the door to look exactly the same, this method could be the one for you. According to Southern Living, all you need is a simple three ingredient paste for superior shine.
- Vinegar
- Baking soda
- Fairy dishwashing liquid
- Non abrasive sponge
- Microfibre cloth
- To get your oven door sparkling clean again, you need to first create a paste of baking soda and water - half a cup each.
- Then, add a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid to cut through the stubborn grease.
- The baking soda works because it's abrasive, and the grease will lift with the soap.
- Spread the paste on the glass and let it sit for around 15 minutes.
- Once the time has passed, use your non-abrasive sponge to scrub and then wipe clean with the microfibre cloth.
- If you find there is still some baking soda residue on the glass then use the vinegar. Use one part vinegar to four parts water and dip another clean cloth into the solution
- Use this to rinse away the baking soda and then dry and buff with the cloth.
If you want to keep your oven clean, then it's important to keep up with regular maintenance.
Every couple of weeks make sure you're cleaning the oven and always clean spills and accidents as soon as they occur - this stops them becoming baked on.
