Lorraine Kelly has informed her fans that she is now back at home after having undergone keyhole surgery. The 65-year-old was flooded with support after she revealed that she was suffering from a secret health battle earlier this week. Posting a photo of herself with several nurses in hospital, Lorraine wrote on Instagram, "Huge thanks to these kind, caring, gorgeous professionals who took care of me at - back home now and following doctors orders to rest up - My surgeon Mr Ahmed Rafaat has been so reassuring throughout - and I can't thank the whole team enough! ."
Earlier this week, Lorraine told her fans that she was having a "wee procedure" and that she will be having her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed after "not feeling all that well for a little while".
Speaking from her hospital bed, the ITV television host said in a video that scans and tests had led to her being taken in for "preventative" keyhole surgery.
She said: "I've not been feeling all that well for a little while. So I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out. It's purely preventative.
"It's going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible. I've been very well looked after, and I'll see you really soon, and I'm going to be totally fine."
Keyhole surgery is a procedure that requires small incisions and can take between one and two hours. Doctors recommend staying off work for two to four weeks after surgery.
Many of Lorraine's fans flooded the comments section with positive words and wished her a speedy recovery. One person said, "Glad you're back home lovely. Now rest up and recover well."
A second person also commented, "So happy it all went well - wishing you a speedy recovery queen." A third also commented, "Hope your recovery is fast and you stay well sending you a hug all wrapped up with love x."
A fourth also chimed in, "Aww Lorraine sending so much love & hope you have a speedy recovery. We will all miss you from 9-10. Take care."
