Harry Styles has been given the green light to construct a new £30million mansion in Hampstead, North London. Despite receiving approval from Barnet Council, the permission comes with a unique stipulation - the singer must implement several environmental enhancements to accommodate great tits, hedgehogs and bats. The-31-year-old former star was informed that he must fulfil several specific environmental conditions to build his dream home.
These include installing facilities for protected bats and other wildlife, such as bat boxes, insect hotels, hedgehog gateways and log piles. Importantly, the music sensation, who has recently ventured into acting, doesn't have much time to install these new facilities. If he fails to meet the May start deadline, the council will require him to conduct several expensive surveys again, according to The Sun. As part of Harry's plans, he aims to merge two listed buildings to create one mega-mansion - thereby restoring them to their original design after they were previously separated.
Additionally, Styles plans to tear down the mid-to-late 20th century extensions and partitions and reinstate a top floor that was removed in the 1950s.
The Daily Mail reported on a lavish project proposal last year stating: "The proposed return of the building to one single dwelling reinstates the circumstance which existed for over two hundred years and which represents the historical development and design intentions of the original house and its various phases of extension - to provide a country house for families of a high social status and wealth on the edge of Hampstead Heath."
Plans reveal that the new estate is set to boast an opulent master suite, complete with four dressing rooms, a private lounge, gallery space, and an indoor patio. The renovated mansion is set to feature luxurious amenities including a master suite with four dressing rooms, a private lounge, gallery space, and an indoor patio. And there will be plenty of rooms for entertaining on the ground floor including a large TV room, gallery and new conservatory.
The floor devoted to friends appears to have been designed with VIP showbiz pals in mind. The spectacular plans also include a new basement cinema and playroom, a plunge pool, steam room, sauna and gym on the lower ground floor.
The entire renovation is expected to span over two years, during which contractors have committed to minimizing noise to avoid disturbing the neighborhood.
Harry's plans were unveiled to his Hampstead neighbors during three preview evenings, where he discussed the detailed blueprints of his dream home. Fortunately for Harry, his neighbors, including celebrities like Lewis Capaldi, Cat Deeley, Patrick Kielty, and James Corden, raised no objections to the project.
The Grammy-winning star hasn't shared any new music in years since the release of his hugely successful Harry's House. When it was released in 2022, Harry's House debuted at No. 1 in the U.K
