Emmerdale fans 'expose' Lewis Barton's real father in heartbreaking twist for Moira

fans have been speculating about the identity of Lewis Barton's real father since he arrived in the village. Lewis, played by Bradley Riches, was introduced as the half-brother of Ross Barton (Mike Parr) and the long-lost son of the late Emma Barton (Gillian Kearney).

Prior to his arrival in the village, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) found a letter addressed to "The Family of Emma Barton". This sparked harrowing memories for Moira, who shoved Emma off the viaduct and onto the ground below, killing her in 2017.

Despite feeling apprehensive about handing the letter over out of fear of what it would mean, Moira informed Ross about the letter.

He decided to meet up with his half-brother, but found it difficult to answer Lewis's endless questions about their family, and the disturbing secrets he has kept for years.

Becoming too much for Ross, he left and shattered any hopes of Lewis connecting with him. However, a recent episode saw Ross have a change of heart and he reunited with his sibling, who admitted he was aware of parts of their family history due to reading about it online.

While Emma is confirmed as Lewis's mum, it is yet to be revealed who his father is. But fans have their own ideas, with some suggesting he could be the biological son of Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) - Moira's husband.

"Is Lewis another spawn child from Cain?," one speculated as another agreed: "Bound to be a Dingle."

When asked who Lewis's father could be, others suggested John Barton (James Thornton), Moira's ex-husband who died in 2012.

Another viewer theorised: "Moira cheated with James so why not Emma with John as revenge thing. This could be why she had Lewis adopted to hide the sin. Also explains why she never told anyone about his existence. That would make Lewis Matty's brother rather than cousin!"

Another simply responded: "John Barton."

Opening up about Ross coming face to face with his estranged brother, Mike said: "It's quite overwhelming for Ross because it brings up so many bad memories. There's so many secrets, and having to tell somebody who's glorified this mother figure in their life that she was actually bonkers. It's not great.

"There's lots of secrets there and Ross doesn't know what to give away, so his walls go up and he reacts in his usual cantankerous way."
