As Dani Dyer gets set to don her dancing shoes on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, the former Love Island star has revealed the one show her famous dad Danny Dyer will never step foot on. Speaking to Express.co.uk, the 28-year-old confirmed that while her family are thrilled to see her don sequins, the former EastEnders actor has flatly ruled out a major TV stint of his own - on popular ITV series, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

Dani told us: "Yeah. I would like to see him on the jungle but he says he never would go on the jungle. He was like: 'Dan, I'd be bored.' He'd be snoring everyone to death." The Love Island winner also revealed her mum and dad will make a rare red-carpet-style appearance together at the Strictly launch night on Saturday, 20 September. Danny and wife Joanne Mas are set to attend the pre-recorded debut, which airs on BBC One this weekend.

Dani added: "Him and my mum, they're doing like a little date day together because they don't get to do that. And on the launch show, they're coming together. Because no one goes home that week, so it's alright! You can come that week."

She admitted her whole family were overjoyed when she signed up for the glitzy competition: "He was over the moon. All my family was so excited. It's such a well-loved show. So he was like: 'go on.' He goes 'go on baby. Go on.'"

The new Strictly series sees 15 celebrities take to the dancefloor for the first time on 20 September, with the first live elimination show following a week later on 27 September.

Dani will join a star-studded line-up including Apprentice favourite Thomas Skinner, former England striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, actress Claire Sweeney, and TV presenter Angela Scanlon, among others.

Earlier this week she told fans on Instagram how terrified she was filming the opening show at Elstree Studios: "Woke up feeling sooo happy, last night was our first ever show and wow, I was absolutely petrified but the feeling I got after was just incredible."

The mum-of-three, who married footballer Jarrod Bowen earlier this year, also heaped praise on her pro partner: "Thank you so much to my amazing partner (can't wait for you all to find out) for guiding me and to everyone involved in the show, you are all so amazing.

"Feeling so grateful and can't wait to officially start now and for you all to see next week."

Dani summed it up best: "Getting the opportunity to be on Strictly is the second most amazing thing I've done this year! I feel very very blessed and cannot wait to get my dancing shoes on."
