Actors Lily Gladstone and Sharon Stone are joining forces in the independent comedy "In Memoriam," set against the glamorous backdrop of the Oscars awards ceremony. The film is currently in production in Los Angeles and features comedian and podcaster Marc Maron in a leading role.

The plot centers around a seasoned Hollywood actor, portrayed by Maron, who becomes fixated on securing a place in the Oscars' "In Memoriam" montage after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. Every year, the Oscars honor industry legends who have passed away in the past year with this special tribute.

Gladstone, known for her breakout role in "Killers of the Flower Moon," made history by becoming the first Native American woman nominated for the Best Actress category at the Oscars this year. In "In Memoriam," she will take on the role of Maron's therapist.

Stone will portray one of Maron's ex-wives, a former major movie star. Notably, Stone was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in the 1996 film "Casino." Judy Greer will also join the cast as another of the actor's former wives.

The film is penned by Rob Burnett, a former head writer and executive producer of "Late Show with David Letterman," who is also directing the project. Producers include Nicholas Weinstock and Divya D'Souza of Invention Studio, along with Maron, Burnett, and David Martin from Avalon.

Recently, Sharon Stone has been making a comeback in the industry, while Lily Gladstone gained critical acclaim for her role in "Killers of the Flower Moon." Stone is set to play the lead antagonist in "Nobody 2," alongside Bob Odenkirk, who reprises his role as a vigilante action hero. Gladstone has several upcoming projects, including a romantic comedy and an adaptation of "The Memory Police." Both actresses have also been making guest appearances in popular TV series like "Under the Bridge" and "The Flight Attendant."
