With the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls, the alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP has released a comprehensive manifesto that outlines an extensive agenda focused on addressing the state's social and economic challenges. The manifesto highlights a commitment to improving the financial well-being of key demographic groups, including women, farmers, senior citizens, and youth, while also promoting economic development through job creation and infrastructure projects.
A major highlight of the manifesto is the proposed increase in financial support for women under the popular Ladki Bahin Yojana. The monthly payment for registered women, currently set at Rs. 1500, will be raised to Rs. 2100. This scheme, benefiting over 2.5 crore women, underscores the alliance’s emphasis on empowering women financially and appealing to their support in the upcoming polls.
In addition to supporting women, the manifesto also focuses heavily on the agricultural sector, acknowledging the significant challenges faced by farmers. The alliance has pledged to introduce loan waivers and raise the Farmer Samman Yojana payout from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000. Additionally, a 20 percent subsidy on the minimum support price (MSP) is promised to help increase farmers’ incomes and enhance agricultural productivity.
The manifesto also addresses the needs of senior citizens, with a promise to increase their old age pension from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2100. This move aims to provide greater financial security for senior citizens while recognizing their contributions to society. Furthermore, the alliance has vowed to generate 25 lakh jobs and offer monthly stipends of Rs. 10,000 to 10 lakh students under the Vidyavetan Yojana, demonstrating its commitment to building a skilled workforce for the future.
On the infrastructure front, the alliance has outlined plans for constructing Panand roads across 45,000 villages to improve rural connectivity. To further support women’s employment, a Rs. 15,000 salary and insurance coverage will be provided to Anganwadi and Asha workers. In response to rising living costs, the manifesto also proposes a 30 percent reduction in electricity bills, while promoting the adoption of solar and renewable energy to ensure sustainable government revenues.
The manifesto, titled "Vision Maharashtra @ 2029," presents a forward-looking roadmap for the state's development. It emphasizes the importance of solar power and infrastructure projects like Atal Setu, Samriddhi Highway, and metro projects in major cities. The alliance's slogan, "Hard work done, now the next preparation," reflects its commitment to completing these projects and advancing the state's growth.
Through this well-rounded agenda, which combines welfare initiatives with infrastructure development and renewable energy solutions, the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP alliance seeks to address both immediate concerns and long-term goals, appealing to a diverse electorate in the upcoming elections.
