She Poisoned Her Husband and Faked a Tiger Attack Story for Compensation, Arrested in Mysore

A shocking murder case has surfaced from Chikkahejjur village in Hunsur taluka, Mysore district, Karnataka. A woman named Sallapuri poisoned her husband, Venkatswamy (45), and then fabricated a story claiming that he was killed by a tiger attack. The police arrested Sallapuri after their investigation disproved her story.

Initially, Sallapuri reported to the police that her husband went missing while they were working in the paddy field and mentioned that a tiger was seen in the village on the same day. She claimed that the tiger attacked and dragged her husband away. This led the police and forest officials to conduct a thorough search, but no trace of any animal was found.

Upon searching Sallapuri’s house, the police discovered Venkatswamy’s body hidden in a ditch behind the residence. Under interrogation, she confessed to poisoning her husband. When questioned about her motive, she revealed that she staged the tiger attack story to fraudulently claim compensation money worth lakhs of rupees.
