Following the trend of several Indian states starting their own domestic T20 leagues, the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has announced plans to launch a new franchise-based T20 tournament in the 2025-26 season. This move will provide a platform for Gujarat’s talented players to showcase their skills at the state level.
GCA Secretary Anil Patel confirmed to Cricbuzz that the association will soon hold a meeting to finalize details about the teams and the tournament’s structure.
Many domestic players from Gujarat, including established names like Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Munaf Patel, and Ajay Jadeja, have already made their mark in Indian cricket. The new league is expected to help uncover fresh talent and strengthen Gujarat’s cricketing profile.
Other states such as Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh have already launched their own premier T20 leagues, which have helped players progress to higher levels, including the IPL.
