X Factor star Amelia Lily engaged as she shows off ring in selfie with fiance

Former contestant has announced that she's got engaged to her partner Eddie McQueen.

Amelia, 30 - who was finalist on show in 2011 - shared the news with fans on this week. She posted a series of photos for the occasion on Thursday night and teased alongside an emoji of a ring: "Mrs McQueen to be."

The former cast member showcased the engagement ring in the photos. Amelia is seen holding her hand up, sporting the ring, whilst sat beside her fiancé Eddie in a selfie. The two other photos included in her recent post gave a closer look at the ring placed on her finger.

The news has prompted well wishes, including from fellow celebrities. wrote: "Congrats." Whilst commented: "Congratulations gorgeous girl." Another person reacted: "So happy for you both, you make a gorgeous couple. Bring on the wedding."

Someone else wrote in the comments section: "I am over the moon for you both. The biggest congratulations." Another person responded to the news: "Congratulations beautiful. So excited for you both. The best news ever."

The engagement news comes just days after Amelia celebrated her 30th birthday. She shared a series of photos from her party and thanked Eddie for having "spoilt" her. Amelia wrote: "The best party with my nearest and dearest. Thank you to everyone that came along, thank you for my gifts and gorgeous messages. Most of all to my big lad Eddie, you totally spoilt me. My best friend. Thank you for making my 30th."

The couple celebrated their anniversary in August. Paying tribute to Eddie, Amelia wrote at the time: "Happy Anniversary to my absolute soul mate! My ride or die, the love of my life. Eddie you are literally a legend, my legend. You are the best thing that ever happened to me, I feel like we’ve been together about 10 years (in a good way). Thank you for constantly making me laugh endless amounts and making me the happiest I’ve felt in a long time. You’re my best friend and I’m so lucky to have you. I can’t wait to celebrate with you tomorrow. Love you always big guy."
