A plane carrying Newcastle United duo Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton was forced into an "emergency U-turn" on its way to South Korea. The Magpies pair have been called up to the Brazil squad by Selecao manager Carlo Ancelotti.
They were due to touch down in Seoul, South Korea, before linking up with the rest of their international team-mates. But while the plane was on its way to the Asian country, a broken window forced pilots to U-turn and fly back to Amsterdam.
Despite being in the air for the best part of 12 hours, the Newcastle stars only got as far as the capital of the Netherlands. It's now expected they will get onto different flights to land on Wednesday.

According to reports in Brazil, Guimaraes will be the first to arrive in South Korea, while Joelinton will make his way from Amsterdam. The latter is expected to arrive last, as Guimaraes is expected to take a connecting flight through another country.
Brazil have a training session at 4pm local time at Goyang Stadium, which will have thousands of passionate South Korean fans. As a result of the timing, it's believed Joelinton will be absent from the open training session, while it's currently unclear as to whether Guimaraes will arrive in time.
The pair will be expected to be available for Brazil's friendly clash against South Korea on Friday. After the friendly, they will hop onto another plane to fly to Tokyo for a clash against Japan next Tuesday.
When their international duties are over, the pair have to embark on a monster 5,768-mile trip back to the North East, before facing Brighton and Hove Albion on October 18. Brazil's World Cup qualification campaign concluded in the last international break with a 1-0 away loss to Bolivia.

Brazil flew close to the sun in their qualification campaign, almost failing to qualify for the World Cup entirely. They registered a poor fifth-place finish, 10 points behind qualification leaders Argentina.
Their record of 28 points from 18 matches is measly for their standards and the worst in their qualifying history. Had they recorded the same tally in their qualification campaign for the 2022 World Cup, they would have failed to reach the World Cup finals for the first time in their history.
Guimaraes and Joelinton could be huge players when they compete in the USA, Canada and Mexico next year. The pair have become huge players for Newcastle over the last few seasons.

Eddie Howe's side overcame Nottingham Forest 2-0 in their last Premier League game before the international break. It was a triumph which saw them go into the Premier League break in 11th place, having won two matches, drawn three and lost two.
After their trip to Brighton, Newcastle host Jose Mourinho's Benfica in the Champions League, before returning to St. James' Park to host Fulham in their following Premier League match.
