Piers Morgan has taken to social media to brand Jake Paul's win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr a "farce" following the pair's heated row last week.
Paul outpointed Chavez Jr over 10 rounds in California on Saturday night in a fight which failed to spark into life. Paul dominated the opening eight rounds before a late rally from Chavez Jr proved to be too little, too late. Paul was awarded the victory by all three ringside judges, but TV presenter Morgan was left less than impressed.
Taking to social media, he wrote" "I had a better fight with Jake Paul on Thursday than the unwatchable farce that took place tonight. The guy’s lining his pockets with buckets of $$$$ - but he’s killing boxing with this boring staged bulls*** against older fighters way past their prime."

Morgan had interviewed Paul on his YouTube channel last week with the boxer hanging up after a heated back-and-forth. Morgan had been questioning Paul about his decision to fight a 58-year-old Mike Tyson last November when he said: "The problem is the only proper boxer you fought was Tommy Fury, and he beat you. He's not even the best in his family.”
Paul hit back when he said: “I mean, you can sit there and make up s***, but you actually don't know your facts. I fought multiple boxers with professional records, and including Mike Tyson himself, who I think is going to be a harder fight than Chavez."
Paul then ludicrously claimed he would have toppled a prime Tyson - which Morgan quickly rubbished. A furious Paul replied: “You don't actually know that! You can't sit there and say that... I think anything is possible. That's why self belief is the most powerful thing in the world.” He added: “You don't think I can be a Mike Tyson? I don't think you go to the gym!”
Morgan said: “I think you're a great YouTuber, a great influencer. I admire what you try to do boxing, but I do think when you actually come up against a proper, serious boxer, and I suspect that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, maybe that person you, it could all come crashing down.” Paul brutally spat back: “I think the problem here Piers, is that you think that your opinion matters?”
Asked why he was doing his show if the host’s opinion did not matter, Paul taunted: “Oh, I'm just taking your audience to sell pay per views. I don't give a f**k about your show, dumb a**. This is a f****** business enterprise. Buy the pay per view on Saturday, June 28, me versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Thank you, tune in everybody!”
The 28-year-old then hung up the call, leaving a bemused Piers smiling and saying: “Cheers Jake, really enjoyed that, and good luck to Julio - knock him out for all of us will you?"
Unsurprisingly, Paul had a different take on his win than Morgan, claiming: "It was flawless. I think I only got hit ten times. Really he just survived and I thought I did great, going 10 rounds against a former world champion who has never been stopped. He’s in there with Canelo, all of these guys, and I embarrassed him like that. Easy work."
