A mum has been left scratching her head over a "fun" brainteaser included in her daughter's job application, causing quite the stir on Reddit's r/brainteasers forum.
The post has sparked joy among puzzleenthusiasts who are now eagerly trying to crack the code. After all, keeping your brain active is key for memory, focus and attention, and what better way to do it than with this tricky conundrum?
The puzzle featured on the job application left users baffled, with the mother confessing that neither she nor her daughter could figure out the solution. She posted: "Daughter is applying for a job and they have this in the application. Any ideas?" The answer to this one is surprisingly straightforward.

Puzzles are an excellent way to enhance your cognitive abilities, aiding concentration and improving memory. This particular brainteaser asks for the next letter in two sequences of the alphabet: "A, D, G, J, M, P" for the first line and "C, G, K, O, S, ?" for the second.
This seemingly simple puzzle has left others stumped as they try to determine which letter should conclude the second sequence. "Just for fun, answer this" the brainteaser prompts.
Those who have taken up the challenge have since come up with a clever solution that makes sense of what initially appears to be a random jumble of letters.
But there's a method to the madness of what seemed like a random series of letters. The link between them has since been unveiled by sharp-eyed puzzle solvers who managed to crack the brainteaser. While it may appear as two separate chains of letters, the puzzle actually needs both rows pieced together to reveal the final letter.

In response to the perplexed mother and daughter duo, one user suggested that the solution lies in the space between the letters and the increase of each row. They penned: "First row skips two letters - A (BC) D(EF) G (HI) J... Second row skips three letters C (DEF) G (HIJ) K (LMN) O (PQR) S.."
Another explanation leading to the same conclusion was offered by a different user, who noted: "The number of skipped letters between the top and bottom increases by one each time. a(b)c, d(ef)g, g(hij)k, etc."
An answer for this particular brain teaser was eventually unearthed as users confirmed the final letter in the pattern. Using the solution provided by puzzle players on the Reddit post, the correct answer to the job application's fun final question would be "W".
