Joel Dommett's hectic schedule around the 2025 London marathon has been thrown into chaos as he risked dropping out of the race. The 39-year-old Masked Singer host was laced up and ready to go on Sunday morning as he joined thousands of other runners taking part in the iconic annual race.

Before he set off, shared his busy schedule for the day which included beginning the marathon just hours after performing in Leeds. The TV star had a sold out show on Saturday night and he aimed to be at the start line at 9am the next morning.

Joel scheduled just three hours for his race in order to make it home in time to care for his young son, Wilde - who he welcomed with 36-year-old wife Hannah Cooper in September 2023. But a spanner was thrown in the mix as Joel faltered on the route around the capital.

The TV host was spotted requiring support when he reached - a little over halfway through the run. He was spotted being held up by two other people as he continued along the route.

Wearing a vest that showed off the charity he was in support of, Joel's speed dropped dramatically as he took to walking. Having hoped to finish the race in three hours, he became projected to cross the finish line after seven hours.

Joel ultimately crossed the finish line in 6 hours, 3 minutes and 27 seconds. He posed at the finish line with a medal in hand and a bright smile - but appeared to wince as he walked away from the scenes of the marathon.

The star had later scheduled an ice bath at 3pm and was due to film on a project at 5:45pm - with his plans likely impacted by his reduced running time. Ahead of the race, Joel had urged fans to donate to his chosen charity.

He wrote on his donation page: "I am challenging myself to run a sub 3 hour London Marathon this year before I reach 40 years old (eeeek!). I'm doing it to raise vital funds and awareness of Brain Tumour Support."

Sharing details about the charity, he went on: "[Brain Tumour Support is] a charity close to our family’s hearts after they supported my wife Hannah following her mum’s brain tumour diagnosis. Anything you can donate will be so appreciated, thank you so much."

Before taking on the race, Joel shared a photo of himself posing with McFly drummer harry Judd as they prepared to compete together. The presenter wrote: "HERE WE GOOOO! Pleasure to run with this dude @harryjudd."

Some fans expressed concern that Joel appeared to have hit a stumbling block during the run. One fan wrote in the comments section of his post: "Lost your tracking at mile 15. Hope you finished OK."

And another fan that was also tracking the star typed: "What happened Joel! Your chip didn’t recognise anything after 15 miles. Hopefully you’re ok?"

Harry had been raising funds for the Children's Trust - and successfully smashed his target of funds raised before he began the challenge. He took to social media before the beginning of the race too.

Sharing a snap of his outfit and some energy gels, the musician wrote on Instagram: "Here we go!!!! All I can do is my best and that what I’ll do. Good luck everyone!!!"
