ITV has confirmed the return of Vicky McClure 's Trigger Point in an exciting announcement.
The nail-biting series stars Line of Duty’s Vicky as ex-military bomb disposal operative Lana Washington, who heads a Met Police bomb squad, using her skills as she’s tasked with dealing with terrorist threats and explosives.
Produced by the same creator as Martin Compston’s police drama Line of Duty, Jed Mercurio, Trigger Point has proven to be a huge hit with fans, and now viewers have been given a first-look at the upcoming third series.

An action-packed 60 second clip gives a glimpse of what to expect in the new series, and follows Vicky attempt to rescue lives against a serial killer.
“I take risks, that’s my job,” she declares, as the clip warns: “Hold your breath.”
The trailer also accompanies six brand new images from the highly-anticipated third series, including returning cast Eric Shango, Blue Lights’ Nabil Elouahabi, Natalie Simpson, and Maanuv Thiara with guest star Jason Flemyng.
ITV teased: “Series three, commissioned for ITV by Director of Drama, Polly Hill, will comprise of six new episodes and sees the experienced team investigate a bomb threat that soon reveals itself to be the start of a sinister vendetta: someone is targeting individuals and demanding revenge. Working alongside the Police Counterterrorism Unit, the Bomb Disposal Squad race against time to find the bomber before they claim their next victim.”
Fans have been left desperate for more, with one commenting: “Each season just gets more intense doesn’t it!? I can’t wait for this.”
“I was literally holding my breath watching that,” another wrote.
A third said: “Oh god, cushion to hide behind at the ready.”
Someone else added: “Cannot wait! Edge of your seat action. Love Vicky!!”
Before the third season has even hit screens, ITV confirmed a fourth will be on its way.
“Trigger Point is one of ITV's most-watched dramas of last year after Mr Bates vs The Post Office, so I'm delighted that this thrilling series is returning for a fourth series," said ITV's Director of Drama Polly Hill earlier this year.
"I know audiences will be once again on the edge of their seat as Lana and the team take us on another thrilling ride to keep the capital safe."
Vicky added: "We're all buzzing ITV have such faith in this series to commission a fourth before the third has even aired. I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana's journey on Trigger Point."

Vicky also shared the news in an Instagram video, having just wrapped filming and still in costume.
She said: “I am on the set of Trigger Point 3, we’re having a brilliant time, we’re nearly wrapped.
“It’s very explosive in there but I can’t show you. But what I can tell you is I’ve got a little secret.
“This is not the end. We are about to bounce straight into series four, it is coming to you.
“I can’t wait to continue the story of Lana Washington and her colleagues and the brilliant people that make this show. So here we go! Series three and four!”
