BBC Morning Live hosts 'send love' as they deliver tragic announcement minutes into show

Gaby Roslin and Rav Wilding sombrely opened Friday's edition of BBC Morning Live with a poignant tribute.

The presenters took a moment to honour the victims of Thursday's tragic incident at Heaton Park, Hebrew Congregation Synagoguein Manchester.

Rav initiated the segment, stating, "Now you will have seen this morning on BBC Breakfast that the shocking news from the synagogue attack continues to develop. It happened just literally a few miles from our studio here."

Gaby then said, "Morning Live calls Manchester home, and we want to send love to everyone affected by this and the community as a whole."

She then addressed Rav's previous experience, "Now, Rav, you're a former detective. People are going to be waking up this morning, and they're going to feel scared," reports Wales Online.

Rav responded with understanding, "Look, it's going to be completely natural," and reassured viewers, "I think when anything like this happens, fear is a natural reaction, but please be reassured by the communities that are coming together."

He continued to encourage vigilance, "We've seen that a lot, and the police, who are literally on the scene in minutes, are working so hard on this. But if you do see anything that worries you, please do report it straight away."

Gaby concluded with information on where to find updates, "And of course, you can see updates throughout the day on BBC News and Five Live and today on the show."

Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt also covered the distressing events on BBC Breakfast.

Naga shared the solemn news that the names of the victims from Thursday's attack at the Manchester synagogue had been released.

She said, "In the last few minutes, Greater Manchester Police have named the two men who were killed in the attack yesterday at Heaton Park, Hebrew Congregation Synagogue.

"They are 53-year-old, Adrian Daulby, and 66-year-old. Melvin Cravitz, a spokesperson for the force, said, 'Our deepest sympathies are with Mr. Daulby and Mr. Cravitz's loved ones at this extremely hard time'.

"We understand that the families have been informed. Family Liaison Officers are in contact with them and offering support from the Home Office."

She went on, "Post mortems will take place later this morning, and they will the families will be continued to be updated on the investigation."
