Lucknow Super Giants have received a big good news ahead of the match against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. LSG star pacer Mayank Yadav has returned to the team camp after injury. The fast bowler is likely to return to action soon and is expected to play in the match against Rajasthan Royals.
LSG announced Mayank's return with a special video on their social media handle. Mayank was away from Team India and LSG camp till now due to back and toe injuries. He was undergoing rehab at the BCCI's National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. However, the 22-year-old checked into the team hotel on Tuesday night, April 15, and is reportedly set to be available for LSG's upcoming match against Rajasthan Royals on April 19.
Mayank Yadav had a stellar IPL season in 2024, impressing with his pace and control. He bowled the fastest delivery in the tournament's history, stealing the limelight. Mayank clocked 156.7 kph against RCB and finished the season with 7 wickets in 4 matches played in IPL 2024. His campaign was cut short due to a side strain.
His performance in IPL 2024 earned him a call-up to India's first T20 squad during the Bangladesh series later that year. He picked up 4 wickets in 3 matches, showcasing his potential on the international stage. However, a back strain injury put him out of action and since then, he will be seen making a comeback to franchise action. Talking about Lucknow, Rishabh Pant's side is currently placed fifth in the points table with 4 wins and 3 losses.
