Superstar Allu Arjun, who set the box office ablaze with Pushpa, has become a global icon with an ever-growing fan base. From high-octane action to emotionally charged drama, the star has consistently delivered hits. But how does he pick scripts that strike such a chord with audiences?
At the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 in Mumbai, the Pushpa actor opened up about his process in a candid conversation with TV9 CEO and MD Barun Das.
The Secret Behind Script Selection? Just One Thing
When asked how he selects his films, Allu Arjun gave a refreshingly simple yet powerful answer:
“Gut feeling. Only gut feeling. That’s the biggest intelligence. If you feel there’s potential in a script, if something inside tells you it’s right, it usually won’t deceive you. I’ve been very lucky that way.”
The Journey From Star to Phenomenon
Allu Arjun, long considered a superstar in South Indian cinema, became a pan-India sensation after the release of Pushpa: The Rise. Its sequel, Pushpa 2, became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, cementing his place as one of the most bankable stars in the country.
Now, he’s gearing up for another massive project—a mega film with director Atlee, which already has fans and film circles buzzing.
WAVES 2025: A Gathering of Giants
The WAVES summit brought together some of the biggest names in cinema, and Allu Arjun’s presence and insights stood out. With humility and clarity, he reminded aspiring actors and filmmakers that sometimes, it’s not analytics or formulas that make a great film—but instinct.
