PV 11 were crowned as the champions of the SV Cricket Tournament 2025. The one-day cricketing spectacle in Chembur on Sunday, saw 16 competitive teams vying for glory in a high-energy format.
In the final PV 11 defeated Danger 11 in a one-sided clash. PV 11 won the toss and opted to field first, placing confidence in their bowling unit — a move that turned out to be a game-changer. Their bowlers displayed excellent line and length, effectively containing the opposition and restricting Danger 11 to just 14 runs in four overs, leaving the crowd in awe of their discipline and control.
With a modest target in sight, PV 11's batters came out all guns blazing. Showing no signs of pressure, they chased down the required runs in just 3.2 overs, sealing the match with dominance and flair. The emphatic win crowned PV 11 as champions of the SV Cricket Tournament 2025, marking a day filled with excitement, team spirit, and top-class cricketing action. The event was a true celebration of grassroots cricket, leaving fans and players with unforgettable memories.
Shirodkar outplays Swastik in Rajyastariya Kabaddi Spardha
Shirodkar put up on a spectacular performance to defeat Swastik with a resounding 52-30 victory in the women's category of the 72nd Rajyastariya Kabaddi Spardha, organised by Shree Mavli Mandal in Thane on Tuesday. The attacking and defensive cohesion from Shirodkar left Swastik struggling to keep pace.
In the second match, Shiv Shakti continued their unbeaten form with a commanding 43-22 win over Spurthi Sports Club, proving their mettle in both raiding and tackling. The final women’s match of the day saw Hothkaru edge out Akash Sports Club with a confident 28-20 finish, advancing to the next round with high spirits.
Meanwhile, in the men’s category, the competition was just as intense. Shiv Shankar dominated their encounter with NMMC, sealing a solid 40-19 victory through aggressive raids and tight defensive formations. Chembur Krida Kendra and Shree Samarth Thane battled it out in a thrilling contest, with Chembur eventually prevailing 37-31 in one of the most closely fought matches of the day.
Total 68 men’s and 68 women’s teams are participating in this kabaddi tournament which is being streamed live on SportVot in association with FPJ.
