A shocking case of expired paneer delivery in Gurugram has prompted the Food Safety Department to raid a Blinkit store behind ROF Mall in Sector 43. The action came after a Sushant Lok-1 resident lodged a complaint alleging that he received rotten paneer twice through the platform, as per a TOI report.
Resident Alleges Foul Smell and Rude Behaviour After Complaint
According to the resident, his family had ordered paneer through Blinkit on Wednesday. “We purchased paneer via the Blinkit. When we received paneer, it had a foul smell, and we complained and replaced the order. But again, we received a rotten and expired paneer packet. When we reached the store, they accepted their mistake, but the store manager behaved rudely,” he told TOI, adding that they have preserved the expired paneer and recorded video evidence from the store.
Food Safety Department Raids Store and Collects Multiple Samples
Following the complaint, food safety officers inspected the Blinkit outlet and collected samples of paneer, kesar peda, milk cake, and toned milk for laboratory testing. Officials confirmed that strict action will be taken based on the lab results under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act.
“Necessary steps will be taken once the reports are out,” an official told TOI.
Citywide Food Inspections Intensify Ahead of Diwali
The crackdown at the Blinkit store comes amid a broader inspection drive across Gurugram, as the city gears up for Diwali celebrations. The Food Safety Department has heightened vigilance, particularly in DLF Nathupur and DLF Phase 3, to ensure all establishments comply with food hygiene norms.
Recently, two sweet shops, Balaji Aggarwal Sweet and Snake’s Corner in DLF Phase 3, were raided. Five samples of sweets, including Moti Chur Ladoo, Khoya Burfi, Dhodha Burfi, Rabri, and Kesar Peda, were seized and sent for testing.
