Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 7 (ANI): Following the announcement of assembly elections dates in Bihar, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi slammed RJD supremo Lalu Yadav stating that he is in "dilemma between his sons and daughters", citing "crisis" in the family.
Trivedi also took a jibe at Tejashwi Yadav for projecting himself as the Chief Ministerial candidate of the Mahagathbandhan, pointing out that while Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi has been portrayed as the future PM by Tejashwi. Still, he was never officially declared the face of the alliance's CM face.
"He is presenting himself but people of his alliance are not saying the same. He called Rahul Gandhi PM several times but Rahul Gandhi did not call him (CM candidate). Let alone the alliance, now the situation is different even within the family. Lalu Yadav is in dilemma between his sons and daughters. There is a crisis in the family," Trivedi told ANI.
The BJP MP affirmed the National Democratic Alliance's victory in the Bihar assembly polls and noted that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, there has been a positive transformation in the state.

"People of Bihar and the entire country is watching how there has been a change in the positive direction under the leadership of PM Modi in Centre and CM Nitish Kumar in the State. So, we are confident that a strong and effective mandate will be given in favour of the BJP-NDA," he said.
Earlier on Monday, the Election Commission announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections. The 243 Assembly seats will go to the polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11 with counting of votes to be held on November 14.

Apart from announcing Bihar assembly elections schedule, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar decided to conduct a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists throughout the country after announcing the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections.
The 243 Assembly seats in Bihar will go to the polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 14.
Addressing the press conferences, the Chief Election Commissioner said, " ECI has already taken a decision to conduct SIR throughout the country."
In the 2020 elections, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar led the NDA alliance, which secured a majority in the Legislative Assembly by winning 125 seats. In August 2022, Nitish Kumar broke the alliance with the BJP and resigned as Chief Minister and formed the government with the RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan. He also became a key figure in the formation of the combined opposition, the India bloc.
However, Kumar's romance with the RJD lasted just short of two years and in January 2024, ahead of the Parliamentary polls Kumar walked back to the NDA. This time Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United and the BJP lead an NDA alliance which also has Chirag Paswan's Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas), Jitin Manjhi's Hindustan Awami Morcha and the Upendra Khushwaha led Rashtriya Lok Shakti Party (RLSP) as its constituents.
In these elections, the NDA will be up against the INDIA bloc of the Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD, the Congress, the Deepankar Bhattacharya-led CPI (ML), CPI, CPM and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP). This time Bihar will also see the entry of a new player in the form of Prashant Kishor and his party Jan Suraaj.
The total number of electors in the final list stands at 7.42 crore, while there were 7.89 crore electors as of June 24 this year. An Election Commission press release stated that 65 lakh voters were removed from the draft list, and the number of electors in the draft list as of August 1, 2025, stood at 7.24 crore.

In Madhubani district, 85,645 voters have been added after the draft publication. After the disposal of the claims and objections received, there has been an increase of a total of 56,423 voters in the seven constituencies of the Nalanda district. (ANI)
