New Delhi [India], April 22 (ANI): Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), aimed at strengthening the capacity building framework in the areas of commercial accounting and financial auditing, taxation and other related aspects in the institution of CAG of India.
The signing ceremony was held here yesterday in the presence of K. Sanjay Murthy, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, along with senior officers from the respective institutions.
CAG stated that, "The MoU would help in strengthening professional capacity for achieving the greater goal of contributing towards economic growth and development. Capacity building of the human resources is of paramount importance and the professional experience and expertise of ICAI would help in strengthening the domain knowledge."
The MoU would cover Entry Level training programmes for recent recruits, Advance Level programmes for experienced officers and Continuous Professional Education (CPE) mechanism in partnership with ICAI.
The partnership aims towards developing comprehensive training programmes covering accounting standards, auditing standards, auditing on digital systems like ERP and sector-specific applications, forensic accounting and fraud investigation etc. The programmes would follow a practical and application-oriented approach with the objective of enhancing the analytical skills in the related domains.
This partnership reflects CAG's commitment to build domain expertise, foster practical insights, and promote continuous professional development in auditing, for enhancing the quality of audit products for our stakeholders. (ANI)
