Mikey Moore's unlimited potential was expressed by his team-mate who compared the teenage sensation to Neymar.

The 17-year-old ran AZ Alkmaar ragged in an impressive showing for Spurs who ran out 1-0 winners against the Dutch opposition in the on Thursday (October 24). The victory makes it three wins out of three for Ange Postecoglou's side in Europe, with only Lazio and Anderlecht also possessing a 100% win rate.

While Richarlison's penalty secured maximum points for the side, it was Moore who was subject to significant praise from Maddison. The England star - who was captain in the absence of Son Heung-min - delivered the ultimate compliment to his teenage team-mate by comparing a portion of his second half performance to one of the game's modern day greats.

"From minute 45 to 65 I thought we had Neymar on the left wing. He was brilliant. Just demanding the ball and fearless," he told. "[He has] that young, fearless mentality and you never want to away from him.

"He’s a young kid, a brilliant lad, a lovely boy. He takes in information, and he’s got bags of ability, so I’ll be there as an older player, hopefully with some wise words to help along the way. He’s got all the ability. It’s just about knuckling down and working hard, which he does to be fair to him."

Postecoglou doubled down on the praise towards Moore, describing the youngster's progression as an exciting project for Spurs. "[In the second half] we put Mikey on the left," the Aussie explained. "I think he’s more comfortable, as you saw, playing on the left-hand side. I thought he was outstanding in the second half.

"It’s exciting. Every challenge we throw at him he thrives on. He’s a great kid and working hard every day. It's exciting for us and the football club."

Moore's status as a highly-regarded talent has long been known. Prior to signing his first professional deal with Spurs in August earlier this year, it was reported that he was subject to interest from , AC Milan, and Borussia Dortmund, which led Spurs moving quickly to secure the future of their starlet.

The north Londoners displayed their trust in the Southwark-born ace as he became their youngest player to ever represent the club in the Premier League when he came off the bench in a 2-0 defeat against last season at the age of 16.

Moore has so far appeared in three league games this season and his strong showing midweek could see him feature in Spurs' next game away to on Sunday (October 27), especially with Son being ruled out with injury.
