A woman has rejected her partner's proposal after a decade of being together - but he thinks the delay is valid.
The impatient girlfriend turned down the proposal because she thought he'd taken far too long to pop the question.
But the devasated bloek says he 'took his time' because he struggles with anxiety and ADHD. He had no idea he'd turn him down once he plucked up the courage to ask her.
Despite his initial excitement, he soon realised which way the proposal was going to go. The awkward situation has divided opinions online, as some people are on the girlfriend's side.

"I proposed to my girlfriend of 10 years yesterday, and she said 'No' because I took too long," wrote the heartbroken boyfriend on . The anonymous man added: "I was so excited. I proposed. I handed her the ring. She looked like she was going to cry."
Explaining the nightmare moment, he recalled: "Then she said 'Sorry. I don't think we should get married', I asked her 'Why?' and she said something along the lines of 'I'll always be the girl you took a decade to decide if I was wifey material. I don't know how to be happy with that reality'."
He then admitted he was "filled with regret" and said: "I really f**ked up. Now, the woman I love isn't willing to be my wife. I don't know what the f**k to do."
The Reddit post has since gone viral on X (formerly ) but has been met with a divided opinion. Some sided with the devastated boyfriend, while others were on the side of the girlfriend who'd waited 10 years. One person asked: "What took you so long?" to which he responded: "Anxiety and ADHD".
The man further detailed in another post that his partner had encouraged him to go to therapy to help with his health conditions. He revealed: "I finally felt like I had enough control of my life and was finally 'adult' enough to get married. So I asked on our 10-year anniversary, and here we are."
But some people weren't sympathetic to either of them as one person penned: "They both wasted each other's lives and time," while another branded them "Two ships sinking together".
Others sided with the girlfriend, as one X user stated: "10 YEARS?! She got every right to be mad. It sounds like he was waiting for better and realised he was out of time and settled." While another defended the boyfriend and wrote: "Staying with him showed she was okay with the timeline. This is on her. She messed up and wasted his time."
