called new Conservative leader 'arrogant' as she slammed the politician on social media.
Over the weekend, North West Essex MP Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke Badenoch, 44, became the first Black woman to lead a major political party in the UK. After 14 weeks, she beat the likes of Robert Jenrick, 42, to be named as former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's successor. In her speech, Kemi said the win was an 'enormous honour'.
In her first interview since her win, Kemi took aim at for being prideful at being the 'first female Chancellor'. She said the milestone was a "very, very low glass ceiling within the which she may have smashed", before saying it wasn't as "significant as what other women in this country have achieved".
The full quote from Rachel had the politician saying she was 'proud' for being the first female Chancellor as it showed girls and young women there should be "no ceiling on your ambitions". Responding to Kemi's comments, Countdown star Carol took to her (X) page to re-post the clip from Kemi's interview.

" is so arrogant she can't celebrate other people's successes Just as was an inveterate liar and it brought him to disgrace, Badenoch's arrogance will ultimately be her downfall. Her right wing press will print otherwise but sit back and watch it unfold," she commented.
As per usual, the X users in her comment section were divided by her opinion, with some agreeing with her and some calling her 'arrogant'. The presenter has not hidden her disdain for the government in the past, and showed no let-up as she waxed lyrical about 14 years of scandal and chaos, dubbing them "utterly banal and ridiculous".
, Carol joined panel members to discuss the events that unfolded. Carol said: "14 years of corruption and lies and gaslighting, you've got two ex-disgraced Tory chancellors in the studio. You've got Nadine Dorries - a woman who barely turned up in her last year as an MP. And everybody out there is thinking no more of this, no more of the lies, the deceit, of the corruption, or the VIP PPE lane scandal, of the betting scandal.
"Who could ever have ever thought that a government would ever be as utterly utterly banal and as ridiculous as this one? So let's get the party started because they have gone."
